Healing Modalities

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique where thin metal needles are inserted into specific regions of the body that correspond with various gestures of the meridian system. This opens up the overall flow of communication in the body, helping it function more cohesively. While its exact date of origin is unknown, the oldest recorded mention of Acupuncture is in the Huangdi Neijing, an ancient Chinese medical text dated between 800 and 200 BCE.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands-on technique that uses touch to release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which includes the bones of the skull, the spinal cord, the sacrum, and the cerebrospinal fluid which protects the central nervous system. As the craniosacral system is intimately connected with the functioning of the central nervous system, craniosacral therapy is true therapy for the nervous system.

Cupping

Cupping therapy involves suctioning the skin with glass, plastic, or silicone cups to release blockages and pain, improve blood flow and circulation, and boost immune function. The earliest known documentation of cupping is in one of the world’s oldest medical textbooks, the Ebers Papyrus of Egypt, which is thought to have originated around 1550 BC. The cupping technique has been linked to many early cultures, including that of Egypt, Macedonia of modern Greece, India, China and regions of the Middle East.

Food and Lifestyle Suggestions

Our relationship with what we consume is ever-evolving. Rooted in uncomplicated personalized approaches and a commitment to continuous education from various integrative perspectives, I emphasize curiosity, intuition and nourishment over diet plans and restriction.

Herbal Medicine

Classical Chinese herbal medicine is an herbal system that is centered around relaying specific impulses to one’s organ networks, which helps them return to a state of optimal functioning. Herbal formulations are designed to help the body re-align with the healing wisdom that already exists within it.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure where small, sterilized needles are used to prick the skin. This creates controlled micro-injuries in the epidermis or dermis, which triggers the natural healing process of the skin. During this healing process, there is an amplified production of collagen and elastin fibers, which are essential for the firmness, structure, and elasticity of skin. As cell turnover increases and collagen-rich tissue forms, the texture, tone and overall appearance of skin may improve, leading to reduced pore and wrinkle size.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a hands-on technique that centers around relieving blockages in the fascial tissue to bring the body into a state of ease. Fascia is a thin layer of connective tissue that surrounds every organ, muscle, bone, nerve fiber, blood vessel, and tendon in the body. The nerve fibers of fascia are as sensitive as human skin and when constrained or stressed, they tighten up. When the fascia is at ease, the system functions smoothly in cohesion, without blockage or tension.
