About Roots of Harmony

Your body is dynamic. Your healing should be too.

Roots of Harmony Medicine is rooted in Classical Chinese Medicine, an ancient healing system that has quietly been practiced and refined over thousands of years. Chinese medicine views the body as a living, dynamic system, and treatments are curated to work with its natural rhythms.

Dr. Jessica Watson works with patients navigating stress, anxiety, fatigue, chronic illness, and life transitions. Her work is especially suited to those seeking a patient and responsive approach to healing rather than quick fixes. She is passionate about supporting those who feel overwhelmed by seemingly complex or fragmented symptoms and diagnoses, helping them feel seen and understood within a framework where nothing is viewed in isolation, and gently guiding them back into a sense of coherence through Chinese Medicine.

She listens deeply to each person, drawing on the pulse, meridians, and patterns of qi to understand where the body is calling for support, and to address underlying disharmonies. Her intention is to make the healing process feel simple and manageable while honoring your body’s innate wisdom.

Treatments may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, lifestyle guidance, and other modalities chosen to support vitality. If this resonates, you are invited to explore the conditions we support, read her blog, schedule a discovery call or an initial appointment.

What to Expect During Your First Appointment

During your first visit, we begin with a thorough diagnostic intake to understand your health history, current functional state, and your healing goals.

This is followed by Chinese Medicine traditional diagnostic methods, including observation of the tongue and palpation of the pulse, both of which offer valuable insight about your body’s internal landscape.

You will then receive an acupuncture treatment, which may also incorporate additional modalities such as moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, or Craniosacral therapy, depending on your individual needs. Once the needles are placed, you will rest for about 20 minutes.

Within a few days after your appointment, you will receive a follow-up email with an overview of your current qi dynamic from a Chinese Medicine perspective, along with personalized lifestyle recommendations. If you are open to herbal medicine, your care may also include a customized herbal formula prescribed through Golden Needle, an herbal medicinary based in western North Carolina, which ships directly to your home.

Please note: If you are interested in both acupuncture and herbal medicine, there is no need to book separate appointments. Simply schedule a new patient acupuncture visit.
